You save a bookmark because you want to return to the bookmarked page, whenever there is a need to, and from whichever device you happen to use at the moment.
Hence two choices. Store the bookmark in your browser, or save it on your web page.
Obviously it's a hard decision to make and that is what makes it interesting. But just in case...
